To answer Sylvia I\'d say 行照 is entirely different. Title is only needed when the owner wish to sell or otherwise dispose of the car as a property. No different from a house or realestate title. 行照 as the word 行 indicates deal with driving the car. Google does a wonderful job, but is not the final judge on everything.

: Sorry my previous answer was wrong. You guys were right. Car title is not equal to 行照 in Taiwan. But there is really no such a term as 汽車所有權狀 in Taiwan. Car title in the US in more like a combination of 牌照 and all the 過戶文件.

: For Taiwan, certificate of title = 汽車所有權狀 (Do not keep it in the glove box!), "行照"是 Registration Card (must keep it in the car!).
