Très probable, car atomic oxygen = oxygène atomique, c'est-à-dire oxygène sous forme d'atome (O) et non de molécule (O2).

L'explication de Daniel est correcte, c'est juste que je trouve la formulation "oxygène atomique" plus précise : le chimiste sait tout de suite qu'il a affaire à O point. "Atome d'oxygène" peut se rapporter au radical comme à un atome au sein d'une molécule.
Et je suggère "un second" pour "another" plutôt que "un autre", mais ça n'est pas le fond du problème.
