The blank is a control used to test if the variation observed in your experiment is really due to the nature of the sample you test, and not to something else. In French, we simply translate blank by ‘blanc’
So, I think that the translation can be ‘la disgestion du blanc’. However, there are different types of ‘blanc’; you can have ‘un blanc réactif’ or ‘un blanc échantillon’; so, check in your English text if you have to specify.
