Passwords corporate policy

When available, copy prevention features and encryption should be used for emails containing temporary or initial passwords.
THE COMPANY must define and maintain procedures for password controls of new and terminated employees and contractors.
These procedures must accommodate situations where:
Passwords do not expire.
THE COMPANY does not control the account administration process.
(A process to monitor accounts for inactivity and disable accounts based on that inactivity meets this requirement.)
All production, system-level and user-level passwords must be part of THE COMPANY administered global password management databases within Active Directory, when possible.

La fin de la phrase ne me semble pas claire.

... une fonction de désactivation après une certaine période d'inactivité

Je traduirais le passage suivant "A process to monitor accounts for inactivity and disable accounts based on that inactivity meets this requirement." comme suit:

"Un processus de surveillance des comptes ainsi qu’une fonction de désactivation après une certaine période d’inactivité répond à cette exigence".

I believe that "based on" here means: "in case the account is no longer active."
