English term

Accidental Commission

English to French Other Government / Politics
I am translating a CV. The person was an advisor of a Colombian congressman. Among their responsibilities was:

"Responsible for the Accidental Commission in charge of the follow- up of the infrastructure [...]"

I can't make sense of what the accidental commission is here. There was no accident involved in relation with infrastructure they talk about.

On the Wikipedia page about Congress of Colombia, I can find: "In addition, there are special commissions and incidental commissions"

The language of the English version is not spotless, with many typos etc. Could it be that it came from an earlier translation from Spanish and "incidental" became "accidental"?

commission extraordinaire

explication ici :

"However, at present the peace commissions have an "accidental" nature, so they depend on the initiative of the legislators, who through the bill seek to modify the Congress regulation so that they become " legal. "

"The project seeks to change the nature of the current accidental commission and improve its operating conditions with the aim of supporting the government of President Ivan Duque in his goal of complying with the agreement in the peace agreement, among others," he said. Statement from Senator Cepeda."

neutral Daryo : that would certainly make sense - but getting the Spanish original (shouldn't be too difficult) and working from it instead of from an iffy translation is a better bet.

Comisiones Accidentales
