Discussion

Germaine Oct 28, 2015:
The parties wish to hold discussions regarding the Project XX. Therefore, the parties will make information... available to each other for... such Purpose]. =
Les parties souhaitent entreprendre des [négociations] [échanges] à l'égard du projet XX ("l'Objet des présentes"). En conséquence, les parties s'échangeront des renseignements... afin d'examiner et d'évaluer ledit Objet des présentes.

One can only assume that the 'such purpose' refers back to th only previously-mentioned purpose, i.e. this proposed joint Project.
Unless, of course, the sentence continues '...such purposes as may be deemed...' etc.

It seems as if the writer has used 'such' rather quirkily (in my opinion) instead of the perhaps more usual 'said' — I am half wondring if it might be the result of an editing error: perhaps the sentence orginally continued, but was then edited down, and the changes were not follwoed through carefully enough?

The use or not of a capital letter is a mere side issue; I chose to use one firstly in order to mimic the use in the source text — as we know from contracts and similar documents, key words are sometimes capitalized throughout, which can sometimes be helpful in order to differentiate between some specific Thing and a thing in general. Here, it seems to me clear the writer would have used it to make clear that the 'Purpose' referred to was indeed the 'Project' referred to immediately before — it just puzzles me slightly why they chose to change it to 'Purpose' in the first place? Maybe the idea in their head was 'for the purposes of this Project'? I suppose another way to have expressed it migt have been 'to this end' — except that, strictly speaking, the project is not the end in itself.

Thanks, Carlos!
disagree GILLES MEUNIER : Projet sans majuscule. Et, c'est la traduction de of such project....

It's cmmon in conracst to refer to the specific project using u/, both in EN and FR; and in EN, in this sort of usage, 'such' = 'said' — it's common in commercial / legal EN, unless anything follows to otherwise qualify it.
agree Germaine : However, the use of a capital letter is the issue, as it refer to the "definition" of the term; see Discussion. Here, "Purpose" = to hold discussions regarding the Project XX. Translation could use "Projet", "Échanges", "l'Objet des présentes"...
