Context is imaging software. Please respond only if you have experience in imaging software.
How deckle works:
Basically a user draws a bezier path on an image and then it rips and tears the photo leaving torn and frayed edges behind.

This is what we do in a darkroom for photography also. We rip a small hole in paper (we deckle it) to create a soft halo type contour around a portrait.
