Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Aug 9, 2005:
@marcus: this is a system for sheet metal profile processing and manufacturing - sorry but the text has been pretty general so far, hope this helps to solve my question!
Marcus Malabad Aug 9, 2005:
Stephen, you really need to describe this Profilieranlage in great detail. What parts are fed into it? What comes out? Profile machinery sounds wrong.
Non-ProZ.com Aug 9, 2005:
@david the locking ring seems to "fit" a lot better, i had not heard the term "abdrcken" in this context b4, more (please forgive me) in a lavatorial sense! i couldn't imagine welding rubber - it stinks!
Non-ProZ.com Aug 9, 2005:
@david: It is for a "Profilieranlage" so I guess it forms profiles, am somewhat doubtful myself about "gasket" too

...just an idea, could be to distribute the pressure over a wider area when the Anlage is bolted down.

spring washer

is what this looks like to me, although I'm not too sure of my ground. I am not convinced one would weld a spring washer to the baseplate of your machine, but anything's possible...

By the way, what is it "profiling"?

Another \"BTW\": I don\'t THINK it is a gasket - but again, I\'m not sure...

I wonder actually if it is better described as a \"locking ring\", if it\'s intended to hold the machinery both level and in place, as it seems to be part of the adjusting device.
