I am translating the following patent (or one almost identical, I wasn't given a reference and haven't checked if this is 100% the same)

This term turns up in one location in the document, where the evaluation method of the dispersibility of the precipitated wax in the fuel oil is described.
・析出ワックスの分散性:100mLメスシリンダーに燃料油を入れ、低温恒温槽で室温から1℃/時間の速度にて、-10℃まで冷却を行い、-10℃で保持したまま5時間静置した。その際の析出ワックスの分散性を次に示す基準に従って評価した。
○:ワックス分散層が80%以上である。
△:ワックス分散層が60%以上、80%未満である。
×:ワックス分散層が30%以上、60%未満である。
I can only imagine that this is a typographical error for ワックス分散性, but I would like to know if anyone has any other oppinions on this.

ワックス分散層is correct. I have just read the patent you are working on.
The test is done by filling a 100 mL cylinder with the test fuel oil and cooling to -10°C. Solubility of wax decreases and you will see precipitation of wax. The larger the volume of wax precipitation, the lower the dispersibility.
(good)=80 mL clear solution (i.e. wax dispersion layer), 20 mL wax
precipitate
(average)=dispersion layer is 60 mL~80 mL, the rest is wax precipitate
(inferior)=dispersion layer is 30 mL~60 mL, the rest is wax precipitate

Firstly, dispersability appears to make the most sense contextually, but I thought I'd look it up anyway.
Would like to hear from others in terms of the context in which it is used, but it does seem that the term appears with relatively frequency when translated as either dispersed bed or dispersion layer, but I'm not sure which suits your context best. I would think it was "dispersion layer".
Now to hear from some subject matter experts on this!
