three stages of lead adaptation period

The word 3段階 modifies the word 期間 and not リード. In the observation period (= adaptation period), there must be three stages or phases to see if the lead is functioning well.

Another possibility is the lead is installed in three stages, but it sounds quite risky, medically speaking.

So I would go for three stages of lead adaptation period.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This is the correct answer. After confirming with the client, they have 3 follow-up periods after implantation, those are the 3 stages this expression refers to."

three-phase lead

I can only guess from the given sentence, but I think the lead stands for some kind of a wire that is part of the abc machine... I could be absolutely wrong though...

Stage III

There are three-lead pacemakers, but they are relatively uncommon; most have two. The separation between 段階 and リード also means that they may not be part of the same term.

I therefore think that 段階 refers to the postoperative stage of tissue growth around the implanted leads (リードの馴染み期間), referred to as "Stage III" or "Phase III" in the context of this device evaluation.

Hence: "The ABC device functioned well during the Stage III lead adhesion period."
