所有権分譲方式

I was reading through some brochures on elderly homes in Japan and came across the above term. It appears to be the type of rights for people to live in elderly homes. (老人ホーム居住の権利形態). What does it mean? Thanks.

(property) unit ownership method

As you've mentioned, it's a type of rights which nursing home residents have over their unit. 所有権分譲方式 allows the residents to purchase their unit as a piece of property and have ownership rights (similar to condo ownership), instead of renting (賃貸方式)or having a right to use(利用権方式)the unit.

Literal translation will be 'ownership right sale/allocation method'...

Thanks, Fred.
agree Kurt Hammond : You might recognize that this is the unabbreviated form of 分譲, that one sees all over the place in Japan for condo sales.
