Craitele sunt femei care faceau parte din personajele scenariului ritual al calusarilor. Ele erau imbracate in costum national, interpretau anumite secvente coreografice, nu erau doborate la pamant in timpul jocului; nu aveau insa acces la partea ezoterica a ritualului.

Las de regula termenii de genul acesta in romana, dar in paranteza ofer fie o explicatie, fie un echivalent (in cazul in care se gaseste).

Eu nu as traduce termenul, l-as lasa in limba romana si l-as explica. Daca contextul pe care l-ati dat este exact asa nu mai este nevoie de nicio explicatie suplimentara.
