Description of a Romanian contemporary artist
This article describes the works of this Romanian contemporary artist. The context reads:
"Întrucât am menţionat ca o trăsătură definitorie a creaţiei acestui artist, rigoarea cromatica, simt nevoia să adaug imediat că această tendinţă nu este urmată de rigiditate, de schematism şi aviditate. Apetitul pentru culoare îl îndeamnă, dimpotrivă, pe artist spre etalarea unei largi game de culori vii, de tonalităţi şi nuanţe. "
My attempt here is:
"As I have mentioned, chromatic precision is a defining feature of the creations of this artist. However, I must hasten to add that this tendency leaves no traces of xx???".
I can see that literally the phrase should be "no traces of rigidity, schematism or greeed." However I do not know if these are the correct words to use for the English as I do not understand the reasoning behind the idea. i.e. Why would a love of "chromatic precision" NECESSARILY lead to "rigidity, schematism or greed"?? I do not want to decide on a translation till I understand the concept here. Does anybody understand this reasoning? - Or should I just take the words at "face value" (valoare aparentă)??

: "nu este urmată" is exacly the opposite of "is not the consequence". It means "it does not cause"."

Discussion
So he is not "greedy" and does not "eat up" the colour. This is my best attempt at making any sense of this bad metaphor and suggested "meagreness".
