Spanish term

firma funcionarial

Spanish to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Venezuelan birth certificate documents
Hi,

I'm translating birth-certificate documents from Venezuelan Spanish into British English and am unsure about a phrase which appears at the top of one of them:

"legalización de firma notarial"

Is the translation as simple as "signature by the civil servant"?

So it does In that case, "Notary signature" would be the appropriate heading. However, in my answer I was addressing "firma funcionarial"...

It says "notarial" Not "funcionarial".

This is the form I use when the actual job title of the signer is not clear.

As phil points out in discussion, the example given is "firma notarial". The translation of that would be "notary signature".
