Tried it... Jun 9

When I was still working at the EU, a manufacturer (I can’t remember which one) asked us to try out a beta version of one of these tools. I did so with translations from FR, ES and IT, where the sentence structure is similar to that of PT. As the results weren’t great, I didn’t get round to trying it with EN. I haven’t used it since…

CAT and MT made it useless.

I have considered voice to text, as I am a poor typist. I considered it serioulsy when I injured my shoulder and could only type with one hand. (But then I found I could still type almost as fast as I can formulate the final version, with roughly the same amount of typos, so I dropped the idea and did my exercises until my other hand was back to normal!) ... However, I suspect the way I draft, revise and reformulate all the time would probably confuse the software.

I tried once but... Jun 9

I'm faster at typing than at dictating and correcting. And technical stuff is hard to dictate correctly.

Tried it, but ... Jun 9

... always gravitated back to typing. I can think and type better than I can think and speak.

While I'm not exactly keen on typing, I can type pretty fast.
There are also two problems: I have some slight pronunciation problems, i.e. I can speak clearly enough to be understood by humans but speech-to-text technologies have been failing to properly transcribe what I say quite regularly. I can also simply not fathom speaking over hours on end, both because it would feel weird and because it's a strain on my vocal cords.
