Can anyone help me with the following?
I have an XLS-file with translations which I would like to convert into a dictionary.
I have tried the wizard, but everytime I get a number of various symbols in stead of words.
Second attempt:
After that I imported the XLS file as a language pair, but now I have to mark en add 3.400 segments to be able to enter them into the dictionary.

Hi Leon.
Did you save your Excel file as CSV (comma delimited) before importing?
Once you've done that, you can carry out following steps (as described in the manual):
1 Select Options | Database administrator | Wizard.
2 Select Import into dictionary as the action to be carried out and click Next.
3 Select Import from a file as the import file type and click Next.
4 Click Browse, select the path and name of the csv file, confirm your choi... See more Hi Leon.

2 Select Import into dictionary as the action to be carried out and click Next.
3 Select Import from a file as the import file type and click Next.
4 Click Browse, select the path and name of the csv file, confirm your choice by clicking Open and click Next.
5 Select User defined as the source file format and click Next.
6 Click New to create a new import script.
7 Select Table layout with unique field separation as the import layout, select ; from the Unique separator list and click Next.
8 We assume that the semicolon is not part of the field contents. For the treatment of special characters, you should therefore select The column delimiter never appears as a character within data fields and click on Next.
9 Specify the order of the fields. Then click Next.
10 Specify the format in which date specifications occur in the import file and click on Next.
11 Check the summary and then click Finish.
12 Save the import script:
– Enter a name for the import script In the File name field.
– In the Scope list, select whether TermStar should save the script as global or as user-defined script.
– Click Save.
Check whether the import script you have just created is selected in the Import script window and click Next.
13 Select ANSI as the text encoding and click Next.
14 Select the target dictionary into which TermStar should import the data and click Next.
15 Select Append all data records for how the import data should be handled and click Next.
16 Check the summary and then click Finish.

Hello Tobias,
Thanks for your help.
I have managed to enter the text into a new dictionary and I found out what was the reason for my failures.
I did not adjust the field sequence so the terms weren't synchronised.
