This is an old Russian expression used to refer to a person acting as they would have in their younger years. I need a more concise English translation. The context: А что, мама? Тряхин стариной-приезжай. Москву поглядишь, и вообще. The author is Shukshin (Шукшин) and this is from one of his short stories.
