As such, it is not the place for national posturing. It is not treaties and rules that make Europe work – important though they are (not least for business confidence) – it is the spirit of a unique venture that makes the EU tick.

Quoique importantes (et non dernièrement pour la confiance économique), ce ne sont pas les traités et les règles qui font battre le coeur de l'Union Européenne, mais l'esprit / le sens / la conscience d'une aventure / d'un exploit unique.
